Summary:
Work closely with the campus attendance clerk, attendance department, truancy officers and parents to encourage daily attendance by students.
Work day will consist of a four-hour day and no more than 19 hours a week.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Reception and Phones Contact parent/guardian in reference to student's absence, on a daily Refer student to Truancy Officer and immediate supervisor after student's third consecutive Report attendance problems to parents via telephone Work with truancy officer to schedule home visit after child's 3rdconsecutive absence and follow up on the status of this child's attendance Receive incoming calls and take reliable messages in reference to student's Reports, Records, and Correspondence Maintain and submit a log of all telephone calls to and from parents regarding student Record feedback from parents and provide said information to Ensure student's phone records are correctly entered into TEAMS by verifying with nurse records or requesting updated information from Other Maintain Participate in staff development training programs to improve job Participate in meetings and special events as Exercise professional judgment in absences; be punctual to work, meetings, and Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor after the phone calls, logs.

Experience:
High school diploma or GED preferred Experience working with school personnel and parents preferred LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in both English and Spanish.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to administrators, teachers, students, parents, and the general community.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized solutions.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to develop effective working relationships with parents, students, staff, and the school community.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Occasional absences are understood but regular attendance is required.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, stand, walk, and hear.
The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and repeat the same hand and finger motions.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus, such as to read computerized or hand written material.
The employee must maintain emotional control under stress.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
